PRODUCTION FOREMAN
This position will use skills in troubleshooting and problem solving to address production constraints, improve workflow and efficiencies, and supervise a team of subordinates.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create a working schedule for workers
• Measure strengths & weaknesses of workers, utilizing their abilities as best suited
• Hire workers as needed with consent of management
• Motivate and support workers when required
• Assign appropriate tasks and provide shop travelers as needed to workers, while ensuring they are properly trained on the equipment they are using
• Ensure workers are engaging in productive activities, and fill in when/where necessary
• Manage inventory levels and the release of materials to production adequately
• Communicate regularly with management regarding problems related to employees and/or production capacity
• Small machine repair and maintenance
• General shop organization
Qualifications:
Primary department oversight:
• Finish Trowel Production
• Welding/Fabrication
• General Assembly and Packaging
• Brick Trowel & Long Handle Tool Production
• Coordination of prototypes, samples and new products
Background in metal fabrication is required:
• General knowledge and Hands-On Set Up (Press Brake, Punch Press, Sanders/Grinders, Milling Machines, etc.)
• Fabrication Tooling and Fixtures
Basic QC Oversight
Competence in the following are plusses:
• CNC Programming (Milling Machine and Press Brake)
• TIG Welding/Spot Welding
• Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Access
• Building Maintenance
• Maintaining and Creating BOMs
• CAD Software (i.e., Solidworks, AutoCAD)
This is a full time position scheduled Monday through Friday. Shop hours are 5:00am to 4:30pm at the Gibsonia location, and there is flexibility for the supervisor's hours within that duration. Company offers a competitive benefits package including healthcare, dental, vision, group life insurance, 401(k), Company 401(k) contribution, 401k profit sharing, and vacation, sick, and holiday pay after completion of eligibility period.
Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill set.
Drug screening and background checks will be conducted prior to hire.
REACH TRUCK OPERATOR
Under general supervision, the Reach Truck Operator will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage and shipment of products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to, stand up forklifts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Promote safe work environment through personal actions.
• Load and unload trucks and containers using equipment provided in safe and efficient manner.
• Check and count freight for accuracy and/or damage; take inventory as needed.
• Direct product to correct area in warehouse.
• Clear work area of loose wood and plastic; sweep area as needed.
• Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 12 months' work experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems.
Preferred Skills:
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to read numbers and labels.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift 60 pounds frequently.
This is a full-time position Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm at the Gibsonia location.
